DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. | Anthony (Tony) Piccolo, 67, of Douglasville, Ga., and formerly of Auburn, passed away peacefully March 14, 2018 with his wife and son at his side.
He was born in Auburn, the son of the late Anthony D. Piccolo, and Josephine Piccolo. Tony was employed in the transportation industry, where he was part of several trucking companies in a variety of senior management roles. His coworkers embraced him for his positive energy. His first position was in Red Star Express Lines of Auburn, and he later retired with a career of distinction.
In his youth Tony loved playing football and graduated from Mount Carmel High School. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Tony focused on being a loving son, father, and husband. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and Holy Family Church in Auburn, and St. Theresa Church while in Georgia. His faith was a profound part of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (Morabito) Piccolo; son Christian Piccolo; daughter-inlaw, Andrea (Gray) Piccolo; his mother, Josephine Piccolo; sister, Janet (Piccolo) Vevone; brother-in-law, James Vevone; sister, Carol (Piccolo) Coughlin, and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Erica, and Christina. In addition he is also survived by his niece, Kelly (Coughlin) Patterson; nephew, James Vevone III; brother-in-law, Joseph Bauso; sister-in-law, Linda (Morabito) Bauso; as well as numerous friends.
There are no calling hours. Friends and relatives are invited to join the family at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Church for Tony’s Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Contributions can be made in his memory to either the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
