Cecilia Swizdor

Cecilia (Sally) Swizdor (96) passed away peacefully on Thursday April 18, 2019, at the Finger Lakes Center for Living. She was born in 1922 to Stanley and Catherine Swizdor in Fleming NY. She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her two sisters, Mary Jo DiLallo and Rose Leja and many nieces and nephews. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Nazareth College School of Nursing and served over 53 years as a Registered Nurse at Auburn Memorial Hospital and United Hospital in Port Chester, NY, where she was the head of Pediatrics. She had a strong faith in Jesus Christ, was a prolific reader and a world traveler. She served in the Woman’s Army Corp during World War II as a First Lieutenant and a life member of the Auburn VFW. She was also a member of St. Theresa Sodality at St. Mary’s church. Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at St. Mary’s Church in Auburn. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Sally’s memory to her favorite charity, The Christopher’s at 5 Hanover Square, New York, NY 10004.
