Charlia L. Conley

Charlia Lee ( Miller) Conley,69 of Auburn passed away peacefully Sunday evening, January 6,2019 at The Commons on Saint Anthony, surrounded by her loving family.
> She was a life resident of Auburn, the daughter of the late Joseph and Doris Mettlach Miller. '  ' Char'  or Shopping Grandma ' as she  was affectionately known by her family, was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School  and longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church. She previously worked at BOCES and retired after more than 40 years of service at Scala Insurance Company.  Charlia  volunteered for several years at the Merry Go Round Theatre. She  enjoyed baseball , especially when her grandson was on the field and was a proud supporter of the Auburn Doubledays.  Charlia also loved to watch her granddaughters  dance, especially , Irish step dancing. She was most happy, and cherished  the times spent with her grandchildren and could often be seen at any of their special events. She will be sadly missed.
> She is survived by her two sons, Christopher ( Courtney)  Conley of Auburn, Sean ( Danielle) Conley of Syracuse, six grandchildren Britney, Samantha, Meghan, Shannon, Christopher and Colleen Conley, sister Margaret ( Robert) Sheppard/ Hunter of Auburn, brother-in-law Dave Guzalak ,  nieces Jackie Guzalak-Douglass , Danielle  Szabo, nephews Joseph Sheppard and Timothy Guzalak.
> In addition to her parents, Charlia was  recently predeceased by a sister Millie Guzalak and the father of her children, William Conley in 1985.
> Friends and relatives are invited to Charlia's celebration of life memorial service this Saturday at 11:00 am in St. Mary's Church.
> Calling hours are this Friday from 5-7pm in the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St.,Auburn. Burial in St. Joseph's  Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
> In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Charlia's memory to either the SPCA , York St.,Auburn,NY 13021 or St. Mary's Church.
