Diane M. Mills

AUBURN | Diane M. (Walawender) Mills, 64, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Thursday evening June 7, 2018, at Auburn Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Floyd and Stella (Sheftic) Walawender and had been a life resident of Auburn. Diane most recently was employed as a home health aide. She enjoyed helping and assisting others that could no longer care for themselves. Diane was an avid bowler for many years and also loved to crotchet and attend her children and grandchildren’s special events. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends and forever remembered in their hearts.

She is survived by five children: daughters, Dawn (Rick) Jorolemon, of Port Byron, Danielle Richardson (Nick Calabria), of Elbridge, and Darcy Mills (Terry Cline Jr.), of Ramer, Tenn.; sons, Dustin (Cori) Mills, of Weedsport, and Darrell “D.J.” Mills (Angel Lanning), of Auburn; grandchildren, Josh, Madison, and Patrick Jorolemon, Skyler Williams, Lauren and Leah Richardson, Liam Mills, Calvin and Austin Lanning, Raequan Morris, Terrence and Darrell Mills Jr., and Quintin Cline, and her companion, Gary Pearl. Diane has nine siblings to whom she was very close, David Walawender, Donald (Kathy) Walawender, Denise (Steve) Spafford, Dorothy (Doc) Phan, Donna (Kari) Wilmot, Deborah (Paul) Williams, Dennis (Pam) Walawender, Daniel (Colleen) Walawender, and Doug (Bethany) Walawender; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Diane was predeceased by a son, Denver Mills.

Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. this Saturday afternoon with services to immediately follow at 4 p.m., all at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
