AUBURN | Dorothea C. (Barnard) Ciampaglia, 81, of Stryker Homes, Auburn, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 24, 2019, in The Commons on St. Anthony.
She was a life resident of Auburn, the daughter of the late Phillip and Dora DeJoy Ciampaglia. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church with a strong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Dorothea enjoyed her friends and was very active in numerous activities that were held at Stryker Homes. She was a former member of the Carnicelli-Indelicato Post and thoroughly enjoyed listening to any song by Elvis. Dorothea’s most joy came from being with her family. She cherished all the special times with them and will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to get to know this special woman.
She is survived by her three loving children: sons, Ray Barnard, and Tom (Donna) Barnard, all of Auburn; daughter, Dora Bumpass, of North Carolina; five grandchildren, William, Anthony, Alexandria, Laura, and Grace; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Lea Moschetti, of Auburn; sister-in-law, Beverly Ciampaglia, of Florida; brother-in-law, Jack Flannigan, of Maryland; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Dorothea was predeceased by two sisters, Elvira Ciampaglia, and Angela Flanagan; brother, Chris Ciampaglia; brother-in-law, Joseph Moschetti; niece, Marian Moschetti; nephew, Jack Flanagan Jr.
Dorothea’s Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, in Holy Family Church. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. this Friday, May 17, at Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
