John Sikonowiz

WEEDSPORT | John Sikonowiz, 67, of Weedsport, and formerly of Petre Drive, Fleming, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Auburn, the son of the late Walter Sr. and Tekla Bazaar Sikonowiz and had been an area life resident. John graduated from East High School and worked at several factories in his earlier years, including Dunn & McCarthy Shoe Co. John was a very kind, generous, good hearted person that always would like a great deal. If you met John once, there’s a good chance you would never forget it and an even better chance that he would never forget you.

He is survived by two cousins, Carole Pettigrass and Joyce (Robert) Kreydatus, all of Auburn, and his friends at Evergreen Heights.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by a brother, Walter.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held this Monday in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

A special thank you to the very caring staff at Evergreen Heights for the love that was shown to John during his stay.
