Lavinia “Vee” Signorelli Baruch
AUBURN | Lavinia “Vee” Signorelli Baruch, 91, of Schwartz Towers, Auburn, passed away peacefully Friday, April 19, 2019, at Auburn Community Hospital.
She was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Lucien and Anna DeGiamo Signorelli and had been a life resident. “Vee,” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was a very devout Catholic and parishioner of Holy Family Church. She retired after many years of service as a stitcher for the former Dunn & McCarthy Shoe Co. Vee was a former member of Belles & Bows, Italian Heritage Society, and the travel group the “Melroses.” Lavinia took great pride in her appearance and was always impeccably dressed with her hair always looking like she just stepped out of the beautician’s parlor; a truly special woman.
She is survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Karen Baruch; special cousins, Ida Slaski, Ann Elice, Ida Morabito, and Philomenia “Phil” Carnicelli; nieces, Peggy Valli and Jeannie Simon; dearest of friends, Lou and Theresa Trama, and her beloved four legged granddaughter, Molly.
In addition to her parents, Vee was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Baruch; two sons, Nicholas and James Baruch; two sisters, Gilda Signorelli, and Connie Carnicelli; brother, Carmen Signorelli, and cousin, Jessie Carnicelli.
Friends are invited to call from 9 to 9:30 a.m. this Wednesday morning at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. Her Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, in Holy Family Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
A special thank you to The Commons, 3rd Memorial at Auburn Community Hospital, and Dr. James Connelly who took exceptional care of Vee during the past few months.
