AUBURN | Lola D. Marino, a lifelong resident of Auburn, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2018, at Matthew House in Auburn. Lola just celebrated her 90th birthday in May.
Her husband, Louis Marino, predeceased her in 2003, and they were married for 52 years.
Lola was one of six children of Panfilio and Rachel DiCenzo. She attended Central High School in Auburn and retired from the Cayuga County Board of Elections in 1996. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church where she sang in the choir, and was a member of the Rosary and Scapular Society. Lola was a regular volunteer for the church pasta dinners and bingo. Lola enjoyed the simple things in life, and was happiest surrounded by friends and family in her kitchen.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Maggio; one daughter, Susan Chadderdon (Matthew); three sons, Bernard (Becky), Thomas, and David (Kelly), of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; along with 11 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on Monday, June 25, in St. Mary’s Church, Clark Street, Auburn, with a Mass of Christian burial to immediately follow at noon in the church.
