Mark J. Andre

ELBRIDGE | Mark J. Andre, 53, of Elbridge, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, May 14, 2019, at The Commons at St. Anthony, with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Auburn, the son of William H. Andre and the late Gladys (Johnson) Andre and had been an area life resident. Mark graduated from Jordan Elbridge High School. He was one of the most generous, caring, loving, and kind son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend that anyone could ever ask for. Mark led a very simple, humble life, and would always put others before himself. Mark “Ozzy” Andre loved music, especially his favorites, Ozzy Osborne, Rush, Frank Zappa, RATM, Tool, and among others. Mark’s sense of humor, gentle smile, and golden heart will forever be remembered and truly never duplicated by all the people that were fortunate enough to get to know him.

He is survived by his loving family, two children, Erik Andre, of Syracuse, and Michaela Andre, of Elbridge; his father, William H. Andre, of Auburn; three sisters, Gloria (Michael) Jupin, of North Carolina, Peggy (James) Vivenzo, and Nancy Andre, of Auburn; brother, William (Christine) Andre, of Auburn; four grandchildren, Arya, Kaydence, Benjamin, and Mathias; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends, and his two close feline companions, O.C. and Katty.

Mark was predeceased by his mother, Gladys Andre.

Friends are invited to join the family for calling hours from 2 to 5 p.m. this Sunday afternoon at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
