AUBURN | Norma E. Guariglia, 94, of The Finger Lakes Center for Living, formerly of Oakridge Road, Auburn, died peacefully on July 26, 2018.
She was born on May 19, 1924, Auburn, the daughter of Paul and Victoria Speach Troiani. Norma was a lifelong parishioner and volunteer of St. Mary’s Church. She served 17 years as president of the Melrose Seniors. She was an avid painter, having exhibited her work at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center on several occasions. Norma enjoyed gardening and for many years her cottage on Owasco Lake. Above all, Norma cherished her family and friends, especially her two grandsons and four great-grandsons.
She is survived by her son, Gary (Carolyn); grandsons, Joshua (Andrea), and Gary (Justine), and great-grandsons, Matteo, Anthony, Alex, and Nicholas, all of Auburn. She is also survived by her sister, Camille Sadler; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Troiani; cousins, Mary Margaret Hayes (John), and Josephine Druczak; brother-in-law, Francis Guariglia; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Anthony J.; sister, Vita Gentilecore and husband, Luke; brothers, Paul Troiani, and Richard Troiani and wife, Marie; brother-in-law, Kenneth Sadler; brother-in-law, Ralph Guariglia and wife, Julie; and sister-in-law, Mary Guariglia.
Norma and her family are very appreciative of the compassionate, caring, and devoted staff of The Finger Lakes Center for the Living.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, at Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 30, in St. Mary’s Church in Auburn.
