AUBURN | Sharon Joy (Blaisdell) Philo, 70, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, Jan. 10, 2019, at SUNY Upstate Hospital, with her loving family at her side.
She was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late Albert and Jane Davis Blaisdell and had been an area life resident. Sharon was a longtime hairdresser and had been employed for several years by Auburn Memorial Hospital, as a certified nurse’s assistant. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends, and maintaining beautiful hair and nails that were always perfectly manicured. Sharon’s most happy and cherished times were those spent with her family and especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to get to know this special woman.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Sylvia (Brad) Tuttle, of Auburn, and Tracy (Sean) Powers, of Florida; four grandchildren, Taylor Gillooly, Brady Powers, Bradley and Derek Tuttle; three sisters, Nancy Withers, of Auburn, Judy White, of Auburn, and Shirley (Richard) Short, of Lovelock, Nev.; two brothers, Albert Blaisdell, and Clifton (Mary) Blaisdell, of Montezuma; the father of her children, Alan Philo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her beloved canine companion, Sam Elliot.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by a sister, Loretta Grahm.
Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. this Wednesday with services to immediately follow at 7 p.m. all at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
