Abbie L. Barnes

Abbie L Barnes, 71, of Auburn, NY, died Friday, October 24, 2025.

Abbie is the son of Emma Mae and Nathaniel Barnes.  Waterloo, NY high school graduate and a long-time resident of Auburn, NY.  He was employed for over 35 years at Daikin International (McQuay International) in Auburn. 

Abbie was a giant force and loved by many and especially known for his great sense of humor, stories and infectious laughter. He was a very proud father and grandfather, an avid electric guitar player, animal lover, as well as a Star Trek and Dallas Cowboys fan through and through.  He is greatly missed. 

He is survived by his daughter Melissa (Ralph) Brooks, granddaughters Alexia (Jason) Pierce and Gabrielle Brooks. As well as brothers Nathaniel Barnes, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, LeRoy (Gloria) Barnes of Wassaic, NY,  Larry Barnes of Rochester, NY, Paul (Christina) Barnes of Brewerton, NY, Robert Barnes of Rochester, NY, and Charles Barnes of Auburn, NY; sisters, Dorothy (Gary) Linzy of Lyons, NY, Rozena (Clayton) Clarke of Auburn, NY, Mary (Robert) Aggie of Syracuse, NY, Emma J. Barnes of Auburn, NY, Linda (William) Barr of Auburn, NY, Brenda Barnes of Rochester, NY, Caroline (John) M. Delate of Pittsford, NY, Cynthia (Duane) Logins of Newark, NY, and Patty Harling

Abbie was predeceased by his father, Nathaniel Barnes, mother, Emma Barnes, sister, Donna Barnes, brother, Barry J. Barnes 

To honor my father's wishes, there will be no funeral service. I invite you to please privately celebrate Abbie’s memory in your own ways. I know that he will be with us all in spirit. Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
