Anthony J. Carnevale

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony J. Carnevale,74, as a result of injuries sustained from a car accident on Friday, May 10, 2024.

  Tony was born in Seneca Falls, the son of the late Vincenza and Anthony Carnevale. After graduating from Mynderse Academy in 1967 and SUNY Oswego in 1972, he settled in Auburn,NY and began his career as a technology teacher for the Auburn School District. Later he earned his Masters degree in Education. He remained with the Auburn School District his entire 32.5 year career, retiring in 2004.

  Tony enjoyed sharing his knowledge and talents with his students. Tony was the kindest, gentlest and most caring man. He was an amazing person with a talent to make beautiful things from wood. He created many pieces for the home he and his wife built together.

  After retirement, Tony continued to enjoy woodworking along with boating and golf. He always maintained a close relationship with many Sigma Tau fraternity brothers. He also was one who would never pass a chance to enjoy a good bourbon with friends.

  He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, a sister, RoseMary Costantino, brother Vince (Patty), sister-in-law Carol (Steve) Hertel, brother-in-law Ron Polito and several nieces and nephews.

  Calling hours will be at Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St.,Auburn,NY on Thursday, May 16th from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm, with a short service to immediately follow.

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a food pantry of your choice.
