Anton ‘Tom’ Podlaha, 60 of Fair Haven, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home , early Tuesday morning , April 29,2025, after courageously battling cancer.
He was born in Manhattan, the son of Helmut and the late Elizabeth (Verhoff) Podlaha. Anton had resided in the area since 1996 and was a longtime truck driver, lastly for Seneca Foods in Geneva. He loved his many cars and trucks over the years, and was especially fond of anything Chevy. He did make an exception and loved driving recently his General Motors Cadillac XT6. He also loved spending time with his family and friends , whether it was camping or spending a day at the beach, Anton loved the simpler things in life. He was always the life of the party, enjoying a good laugh or sharing a story with his friends. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his best friend and loving companion of many years, Laura Wilczek of Weedsport, her children Amanda and her fiancé Brandan Raftis and Stephen , who Anton, considered like his own. Anton’s also survived by his father Helmut and four siblings, Elizabeth Podlaha, Frederick (Debbie) Podlaha, Francis (Martina) Podlaha, Gregory Podlaha as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his mother, Anton was also predeceased by his wife Kathleen.
There are no services at this time, a celebration of Anton’s life will be held at a later date and time that will be announced
