Barb Tomchik Obituary

Barb ( Netti) Tomchik, 69 of Clay, NY passed away after a truly courageous battle with cancer, Sunday , October 27,2024.

  She was born in Auburn, the daughter of the late  Peter and Marge (McQueeney) Netti and lived most of her life there. She graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1973 and received her bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. Barb previously worked at Melvin & Melvin Law Firm, marketing specialist for Chase Bank in Syracuse and volunteered for Hospice of CNY. Barb was a communicant of Pope John XXIII Roman Catholic Church in Liverpool for many years . 

  One of Barb’s great traditions was attending The Great New York State Fair with her husband, Joseph. She also loved the outdoors, enjoying hiking and traveling, especially to the Outer Banks. Barb will be greatly missed and will always be held closely in the hearts of her many relatives and friends. 

  Barb is survived by her loving siblings, sister Carol O’Connor, brother Tom and spouse Debbie Netti, a  sister-in-law ,Patricia ( Thomas) Czeizinger, brother-in-law Donald (MaryJean) Tomchik as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

  In addition to her parents, she was recently predeceased by her brother-in-law David O’Connor.

  Calling hours are this Thursday, October 31st from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm in Pettigrass Funeral Home. Services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm also in the funeral home, 196 Genesee St., with cousin, Fr. William Donnelly officiating . Burial is at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery.

  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of CNY.
