BEVERLY (AVERY) CECERE
Union Springs, NY – Beverly Cecere, 85, of Brick Church Road, Union Springs passed away Wednesday morning, August 7,2024 at Auburn Community Hospital surrounded by the comfort of her family. Beverly was born on April 25, 1939 to Jack and Bernice (Salvage) Avery and graduated from Union Springs High School. Following graduation, she was a beautician and years later she worked for the Union Springs schooldistrict. She was best known for her smile and the kindness she showed everyone.
Her husband, Joseph H. Cecere,predeceased her in 2006.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jacquilyn (John) Dmytrenko of Union Springs and Alisa (Martin) Gardner of Genoa; grandchildren Matthew (Melinda) Gardner of Cortland, John Dmytrenko of Owasco, Lindsey (Aaron) Swartwood of King Ferry and Joseph Dmytrenko of Camillus. She is also blessed with three adorable great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Ryan Gardner and Haley Swartwood.
For nine years, she resided at Connect 55 in Auburn and enjoyed the company and friendship of so many of the residents. Beverly was predeceased by a very dear friend and companion, Burdell“Riley” Riley who cared for her and her dog Angie. The family is grateful for the support and care provided by Anne Halicy, over the past two years; the friendships of Jean Dellonte and Shelia Murphy; and the wonderful compassion given by her nurse, Kim Foster and spiritual support from Matthew Binkewicz, both from Hospice. We are also thankful for the outstanding care provided by the 4Central staff of Auburn Community Hospital.
Beverly is best known for her dolls and dogs; she was always surrounded by her four-legged friends.
Calling hours are this Saturday, August 10,2024 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, with services to immediately follow at 4:00 pm in the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. Burial will take place in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Union Springs upon the conclusion of the services.
