Carmella (Condes) Hand

Carmella Hand, 85 of Auburn passed away peacefully in the comfort of her  home , Thursday evening October 30,2025, surrounded by her loving family.
 She was a lifelong resident of Auburn, the daughter of the late Henry and Virginia (Delorenzo) Condes. Carmella worked for many years at Auburn Spark Plug and retired from the Auburn Enlarged City School District, after 17 years of service. She was a longtime communicant of Holy Family Church. Carmella enjoyed bowling, playing BINGO and taking an occasional  trip  to one of our local casino’s. She was most happy the many special times she was fortunate to spend with her family . She will be greatly missed.
 She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, James E. Hand Jr., three beloved children, Cherrie ( David) Wilczek, Tina (Eric) Bunnell, James (Penny) Hand III, six grandchildren, Jennifer Wilczek, Cassandra (Tony) Bunnell, Allyson (Sean) Bunnell-Thurston, Megan (Matt) Frey, Brittni Hand, Dakota Hand, seven great-grandchildren, Aiden, Evan, Thea, Gabriel, Arthur, Simon,Ella, three siblings, brother John (Pauline) Condes, sisters, Jean Baranska and Patricia Condes as well as several nieces, nephews,cousins and beloved canine friend, Coco.
 In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by a grandson David Wilczek ,two sisters, Clementine Condes , Laura Tanner and four brothers, Nicholas, Henry, Anthony and Louis Condes.
 Calling hours are this Tuesday, November 4,2025 from 4-6:30 with services to immediately follow,all inside of Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
