Christopher Earl Obituary

Christopher Thomas Earl, 40 of Cayuga passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Auburn Community Hospital.

He was born in Auburn, NY,  the son of Maureen and Dennis Earl and had resided most of his life in the Union Springs area. Christopher had various jobs in his life, but he most recently worked at Tops Supermarkets, starting as a part-time meat clerk, working his way up to a full-time meat wrapper, and was accepted into the meat cutter apprentice program to begin his first step toward becoming a butcher, something he was so proud of. Unfortunately, before completing the program, an injury prevented him from continuing down that path.

He enjoyed camping (more on sunny days than rainy days), watching football (rooting on Atlanta Falcons and his dad’s team, Miami Dolphins), watching movies, playing board and video games, spending time with family, and above all, spending time with his daughter Alyssa. This was when he was most happy.

He was a kind, funny, loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and everyone who knew him or had a chance encounter with him was met with a smile, no matter what was going on in his life.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Alyssa, mother Maureen (Bill) Forrest, father Dennis Earl, two siblings, brother Brian (Jackie) Earl, sister Wendy (Chris) Mahonen. He is also survived by aunts and uncles: Gail (Vogue) Devine, Gary (Theresa) Earl, Tommy Earl, Eric (Patti) Flinn, Michael (Carin) Adams, as well as nieces and nephews: Tyler Earl, Mackenzie Karschner, Lily and Benjamin Mahonen, and several cousins. He will be missed by many, especially  long-time friends Katie Cholette and Josh Arnold, who were always there for him.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Jacqueline and Harry Flinn and paternal grandparents Doris and Thomas Earl, as well as his uncle Timothy Earl, and his beloved dog, Tank.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, March 22, from 11-1, with a graveside service immediately following in Oakridge Cemetery in Union Springs, NY.

You will always and forever be in our hearts, our charming, funny, loving, father, son, brother, uncle, friend. Love you, to the moon…and beyond.
