Donald W. Bodner, 81 of Auburn passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 4,2025 at his home.
He was born in Auburn, the son of the late Peter and Irene (Brock) Bodner and resided most of his life in the area. Don graduated from Port Byron High School. He was a highly skilled mechanic for many years, working at various local establishments, including Fox Dealerships , NAPA and Advance Auto Parts. He was a volunteer fireman for several years. Don also enjoyed a trip to one of our local casinos or the thrill of scratching off a winning lotto ticket. He had a special fondness over the years, of always having a Chevy truck.
He is survived by three daughters, Andrea Garton and fiancé Luke Jock, Jodi ( Michael) Murphy, Rachel Bodner, four grandchildren, Cory and Nicholas Garton, Marissa (Corey) King, Zachary Saurini, siblings, Barbara Robinson, Peter ( Kathi) Bodner Jr.,, Susan (Don) Witchey, Sally ( Peter) Mentillo, Laurie ( Brad) Wheeler, Steven ( Janet) Bodner as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife Virginia 'Ginny' and two brothers Ronald and Paul Bodner.
