Dr. Brian “Doc” D. Lesch DDS of Sennett, NY, and Lakewood Ranch, FL, passed away surrounded by the love of his family on December 21, 2025, at the age of 70. Brian was born in Auburn, NY, to the late Dr. Gerard Lesch and Margaret Train Lesch.
Brian was known for his kindness, generosity, and deep devotion to his family. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and cared for, and his love for those closest to him was constant and unwavering.
Brian is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend of 30 years, Kirsten Daniel Lesch; his children, Brian Lesch, Jack (Karianne) Lesch, George Lesch, and Daniel Lesch; and his cherished grandchildren, Baron, Bailey, Kennedy, Melody, and Rodney. He is also survived by his siblings, Michael Lesch, Dr. J. Richard Lesch, and Timothy (Mary) Lesch, his sister-in-law Sandra Lesch and his mother-in-law Barbara Daniel; as well as his many nieces and nephews, whom he loved as his own children. Brian’s family was his heart, he was their rock, their constant source of love.
Brian was predeceased by his father, Dr. Gerard Lesch; his mother, Margaret Train Lesch; his siblings, Gerard “Jeb” Lesch, Stephen Lesch, and Margaret Lesch Jahn; his father-in-law and dear friend, Harold Daniel, his brother-in-law, Kenneth Jahn and sister-in-law Mary Lesch. The family takes great comfort in knowing that the “little ones” are back together again, surely enjoying a rollicking time.
Brian was a graduate of Auburn High School, Alma College, and the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Following graduation, he joined his family’s dental practice in Auburn, NY. “Doc” was known for his generosity, skill, and humor. He had a special gift for helping even the most dental-phobic patients feel at ease and often provided his services free of charge. He cooked for his staff nearly every afternoon as an expression of his appreciation and love.
Due to illness, Brian was forced to retire. While he loved being a dentist, he treasured the 13 years he spent as a stay-at-home dad. This time allowed him to swim, cook, explore Vermont, and share countless adventures with his boys, especially his youngest son, Danny. Brian and Danny were inseparable, remaining side by side until Brian’s very last breath. Though he never wished to be ill, Brian recognized the blessing of being given this precious time.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, January 10th from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, with services to immediately follow at 11:00 am, all inside of St. James Episcopal Church, 96 E. Genesee St. in Skaneateles.
