Edward J. Bohin, 97 of Auburn passed away, peacefully January 3, 2024, at his home.
He was born in Tupper Lake, NY, the son of the late Mike and Sophia (Pedro) Bohin. Ed was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, receiving several medals as he served our country honorably. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion of Saranac Lake. Ed was a skilled craftsman and lifelong builder. He specialized in custom cabinets and stairs but constructed many homes for family and friends over the years. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying, hunting, fishing and logging in his earlier days. Ed enjoyed cooking and could also be found out on the dance floor, having a good time. Ed's sense of humor and charismatic demeanor will never be duplicated and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to get to know this special man.
He is survived by six daughters, Saundra Wickwire (Marty Dillon), Edna (Randy) Dayley, Catherine Bohin, Evelyn Bohin, Joanne Picciano (Gary Green), Janet (J. Peter) Brooks, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren. nephew William (Robin) Bohin, great-nephews William and Joseph as well as several other relatives.
In addition to his parents, Ed was also predeceased by a son Lawrence, several siblings and longtime companion Joan Villeneuve.
A private memorial service will be held in Pettigrass Funeral Home, at the convenience of the family.
The family would like to thank the Syracuse VA Hospital and Hospice for their extra special care that was shown to their father during his time of sickness.
