Edward J. Giancola, 82 of Auburn passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 30, 2026.
He was born in Auburn, NY the son of the late Frank and Celia Giancola. Ed worked 42 years at Alco’s and was a part time driver for 40 years at Calandro’s. Ed loved having daily breakfast and coffee with his old time friends at all the local restaurants, picking up the daily newspaper, and taking drives around town with his wife to see what his grandkids were up to. He cherished the many special times he was fortunate enough to have had with his family and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, of 60 years, Marilyn Giancola, his sons Mark (Lisa) Giancola, Thomas Giancola, grandchildren Jacob Giancola, Samantha (Michael) Howell, Joshua Giancola, Kennedy (Michael) Schumaker, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Giancola, and 14 great-grandchildren.
A calling hour will be held from 10:30-11am on Tuesday, April 7th, 2026 with a mass of Christian burial to immediately follow all at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Clark St., Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
The Giancola Family would like to extend an invitation to family and friends to gather with them at the Knights of Columbus at 47 Market Street, Auburn to continue to celebrate Ed’s life.
