Ellen Harper

Ellen Harper, 77 of Weedsport passed away peacefully, January 2,2026 at Auburn Community Hospital.
 She was born in Auburn the daughter of the late John and Gloria (Mucher) Harper. Ellen received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from SUNY Cortland. Prior to her retirement, Ellen taught for many years in the Bixby School District in Boulder, Colorado, where she also tutored many students. Ellen was a very talented artist having created many beautiful drawings and paintings. She also loved animals with a special fondness for cats. Ellen thoroughly enjoyed helping others and had a heart of gold. She will be greatly missed. 
 She is survived by her two loving sisters, Diane Harper of Skaneateles, Patricia ‘Lynne’ ( Jack) Burns of Auburn, a niece Kelli (Brian) Bennink, nephew Kevin Burns, two great- nephews Jimmy and Jack Bennink as well as several friends and colleagues.
 As were Ellen’s wishes there are no calling hours or services.
