J. Norman Black, 91, of Auburn passed away peacefully Saturday, April 14, 2018, following a brief illness.
He was a native of Port Byron, the son of Dwayne and Florence Black. Norm graduated from Port Byron High School and Clemson University, earning a degree in civil engineering. He was employed by various construction firms, and fully enjoyed more than 60 years with William A. Bouley Construction, mostly as an estimator and former superintendent. One of Norm's most rewarding pastimes was woodworking, having designed and built many different kinds of furniture and toys. He served as a member of the Owasco Zoning Board of Appeals and former member and usher at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Auburn. He took an active, personal interest in his community. Norm had a spontaneous sense of humor and will be sadly missed by many who have known and loved him.
