James M. Vivenzio, 43 of Union Springs passed away Friday morning, March 7, 2025 at Auburn Community Hospital.
He was born in Auburn, the son of James J. and Peggy (Andre) Vivenzio Jr. and was a lifelong area resident. 'Jamie' as he was known by his family and friends, graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 2000 and also graduated from BOCES in 2002. Jamie enjoyed the simple things in life, and thoroughly enjoyed any chance he could get his hands on an order of McDonald's french fries. Jamie loved his family as well as his friends from various programs that he was involved in, whether it was at the E. John Gavras Center or the Unity House; he was adored for his infectious charm.
He is survived by his loving parents, James and Peggy Vivenzio, beloved sister Christine (Michael) Waby, niece Skylar and nephew Brayden Waby as well as many special aunts and uncles, including: Michael Jupin of Catawba, NC; William (Christine) Andre, Nancy Andre all of Auburn; Joseph (Glenna) Kenny of Sarasota, FL, Susan (Scott) Hendrix of Townsend, GA, and Virgil Hobby of Port Byron.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, William and Gladys Andre, James J. Vivenzio Sr. and Sophie Mae Burgett, aunt Gloria Jupin, uncles Mark Andre and Michael Hobby; very special great aunt Rose Cimpi and great uncle Michael (Mike) Vivenzio; as well as just recently his cousin Maggie Race.
A calling hour will be held this Tuesday, March 11th from 9:30 am until 11:00 am, with services to immediately follow, with Rev. Frank Lioi officiating, all at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the very caring staff of 3rd Memorial at Auburn Community Hospital for their comfort and tenderness that was shown to Jamie over the past weeks and also to the staff of the Unity House who became Jamie's friends and family throughout the years.
