Joan Marie Hintze

Joan Marie Quinn Hintze, 80 of Auburn, NY passed away peacefully December 18, 2024, at Auburn Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Mount Kisco, NY the daughter of the late Thomas and Llivene (Welch) Quinn.  Joan resided in various counties throughout her life including Orange, Otsego, and most recently Cayuga county.

Joan took great pride in her education.  Receiving her Masters in Gerontology and working towards her Doctoral Degree at Columbia University. For many years Joan worked for the Arc of Rockland, Morningside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Bronx NY, and more recently owned and operated Senior Styles, LLC where she took great pride in designing women’s dresses for the elderly ensuring women with hindered mobility could dress with ease.

Joans greatest pleasure was when her grandchildren Emerson and Patrick Hintze came to visit.  

Joan is survived by her two children, daughter, Darlene Bechard and significant companion Charles Robertson, son Chad Hintze and his wife Trish, two grandchildren, Emerson and Patrick Hintze, two siblings, Patricia (Lonnie) Brinker, Thomas Quinn, several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents,Joan was also predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Michael Quinn.

A private burial service will take place at the convenience of the family in the spring at Hartwick Seminary Cemetery.
