Joan Marie O'Hora

Joan Marie O’Hora, 89 of Locke passed away, after a brief illness on October 22, 2024, at Cayuga Medical Center.

  She was born in Auburn the daughter of the late, Walter and Agnes (Muth) Stawick and had resided in the area most of her life. Joan retired from Welch Allyn after many years of service and more recently worked at Owasco Elementary School as a cafeteria aide. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed the simpler things in life, such as television shows from the 70s, 80s, and 90s—her favorites being I Love Lucy and Walker, Texas Ranger. Joan together with her late husband, Donald “Bucky” especially enjoyed their time together at local casinos. She will be sadly missed by her family.

She is survived by her loving children; sons, Gary (Joanne) Green, Michael (Diane) Green, Steven (Candy) Green; daughters, Doris (Phillip) Chayka, Lynn (Fred) Jones, Donna (Daniel) Newton; sisters, Lorraine Maggio, Geraldine Foster, and Margaret Salvage; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

   In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Donald; brother, Richard Muth; grandson, Jeremy Green; granddaughter Jessica Jones and great-grandson Issac Klipple.

  Calling hours will be held at Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn, Tuesday, October 29, from 4-6 pm with a service immediately following at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan’s memory to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Golisano Children’s Hospital
