John A. Butera, 75 of Auburn and formerly Town Hall Rd., Owasco passed away Monday , December 16,2024 at Auburn Community Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was a lifelong resident of the Auburn area, the son of the late Anthony and Olga ( Wilcynski) Butera. He graduated from Central High School , Class of 1967. John was a longtime registered nurse, specifically a psychiatrist nurse at 1 North for Auburn Memorial Hospital and also was employed by Hutchings Psychiatric Ward, V.A. Medical Center, Louis Gosset ,Cayuga County Jail and more recently for O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. John’s biggest passion and hobby was farming and raising ‘Morgan’ horses.
He is survived by his wife Jackie (Verdi) Butera, three children, Wendy Reynolds, Anthony ( Tetiana) Butera, Anna Butera, two grandsons, David VanTassell, Marcus Anthony Butera, as well as several other relatives and close friends, Joe Tidd, Eddie Tidd and Edward VanTassell.
A private calling hour and service will be held at the convenience of the family.
