John J. Demsky

JOHN JOSEPH DEMSKY

“Jack” was born on October 8, 1935, in Highlands, New Jersey, to Victor and Madeline (Keene) Demsky. He was a devoted member of the Catholic faith and passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 24, 2025.

Jack spent his youth digging clams and enjoying the Jersey Shore. He graduated from Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High School. After serving in the U.S.Army, he opened J&J Machine Shop in Jackson, NJ. Throughout his life, Jack was a Tool & Die Maker. Eventually, he retired from Texas Instruments in Dallas.

Jack married Patricia Ruth Cooke, daughter of Stephen and Ruth (McGrath) Cooke on January 2, 1960, in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Rumson, NJ. He and his family lived in Jackson, NJ; Wells, Vermont; Plano, Texas; and he and Pat retired to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, in 1997. In 2022, Jack moved to Skaneateles, New York.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years; his parents; his sister, Eleanor Shaneyfelt; his son, Michael Demsky; and his grandson, Thomas Wilson. Jack is survived by three of his children; Jacquie and her husband, John Wilson; Debbie and her husband, Mark Probus; Tim and his wife, Megan; and his daughter-in-law, Tracey. He is also survived by six wonderful grandchildren: Stephen Demsky and his wife, Aimee; Joseph, Emily, and Samantha Probus; Christina Wilson and her husband, Youssouph Djiba; and Connor Demsky; and four precious great grandchildren: Ridley, Ellorie, and Paxton Demsky; and Amira Joy. Jack is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Williams; his sister-in-law, Regina Clayton and her husband, Bill; his brother-in-law, James France; and many nieces and nephews.

Jack enjoyed kayaking, sunbathing, camping and his daily Coca-Cola. His love for driving brought him to many states across the country and into Canada. Jack was an avid wood worker and took pleasure in creating handmade heirlooms for family. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus.
