John L. Rooker, 92 of Port Byron, NY passed away peacefully Thursday April 17,2025 at Auburn Community Hospital.
He was born in Port Byron, the son of the late, Madison and Lena (Farnham) Rooker. John was an Air Force veteran serving our country honorably during the Korean War. John retired after more than 40 years with Conrail Railroad. He especially enjoyed the outdoors and taking in the beautiful nature that surrounded him. John loved camping and spending time in the Adirondacks. He also loved his motorcycles and cherished all the special memories he was fortunate to enjoy with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Sharon (Sawyer) Rooker, two daughters Johanna (Gary) Darrow, Shawn (Stan) Silliman, three grandchildren, Becky, Benjamin, Joshua, special nephew Justin, special niece Alyssa, and several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, John was also predeceased by a daughter Brenda, and siblings Gerald, Ernest, Charles, Mary, Della, Nettie and his two favorite canine companions Shadow and Buddy.
As were John’s wishes, there are no services.
