Joseph Adam Chindamo passed away unexpectedly on October 19, 2025.
He was born at Auburn Memorial Hospital on May 11, 1993 and raised in his family home in Owasco, New York. Joey graduated from Auburn High School in 2011 and attended Cayuga Community College. He lived in Plattsburg, New York for the past four years where he loved skiing, hiking and anything outdoors.
Joey loved playing lacrosse and soccer, he began playing at a very young age and continued after high school and college. He watched all sports and enjoyed sharing this passion with his Mom. In addition to sports he was an exceptional cook and found joy in preparing meals for his family and friends. He worked in various restaurants throughout his career as a cook. Joey was an avid reader his entire life and built an impressive personal library. His sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Above all, Joey cherished spending time with his family and friends.
Joseph is survived by his loving parents Sam and Shelby (Kirker) Chindamo, sister, Kathryn “Katie” and her husband Eric O’Conner, sister, Jill and brother, Eric. Paternal Grandparents, Sam and Nora Chindamo, Maternal Grandfather, Gerald Kirker, several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and his “Grandma Sue” Querns.
Joseph was preceded by his Maternal Grandmother, Sheilah Kirker, Aunt, Leah Kirker and Uncle, John Kirker.
Joey will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends, who loved him dearly.
Calling hours are this Friday, October 24th from 3 to 6 PM in the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St. A private service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
