Joseph Lee Unger, passed away on January 16, 2025, after a 3-year valiant battle with cancer in his home in Tully NY, Town of Otisco. He fought hard, never complained and never gave up.
He was born in Syracuse NY, the son of the late Robert R Unger Jr. and Laura (Hall) Stowell.
He is survived by his siblings, brothers: Ronald (Patricia) Unger of Lafayette NY, Douglas (Sue) Unger of Lafayette NY, David (Dawn) Unger of North Carolina and Thomas (Melonie) Unger of Marcellus NY, a sister Judy (Norman) Kimball of Florida, children: Jeffrey Unger of Marietta NY, Adam Unger (Deceased) and Kayla Hill of Syracuse NY., 3 grandchildren. Joey had several nephews, nieces and cousins, Doreen (ex-wife) and Joe Nelipowitz helped Joey during his cancer journey. Tyler Bell, Joey’s friend, took great care of him and always made sure he had everything he needed. Joey was a dedicated member of AA and had been sober for the last 21 years, 10 months and 4 days. Joey went to Onondaga Central School. Joey was a skilled mechanic and recently retired from Raulli and Sons Inc.
Per Joey’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services.
