Joyce LoBisco Obituary

Joyce M. (Amico) LoBisco, 79 of Auburn passed away after a valent battle with cancer Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Matthew House with her loving daughters by her side.

She was born in Rochester, NY and the daughter of the late Louis and Josephine (Guimento) Amico and resided in Auburn for the majority of her life. Joyce graduated Mt. Carmel High School in 1962 and later began her career at Centro Transit. She became the first woman operations manager for the company and proudly retired in 1999. She was a very devout Catholic and former member of St.Mary’s and more recently Sacred Heart Church. She was a former board member for Options For Independence and until her more recent years, was on the board of trustees for Auburn Federal Credit Union.

Joyce was always an upbeat positive person who had such a love for life and her passions. Joyce enjoyed traveling, giving back to her community, cooking for the many visitors at her kitchen table and dancing no matter who was watching. She even won the American Bandstand Competition in 1961. Above all, Joyce loved and adored her grandchildren. She always kept fighting and wanted to live for them and was a major, influential part of all their lives.

She is survived by her two loving daughters, Sandra (David) Pickens of Ballston Lake, NY, Joanna LoBisco-Mancuso of Auburn, five grandchildren, Lanie, Tessa and Jillian Pickens, Anthony and Francesca Mancuso, a sister Joanne (Samuel) Scozzari, sister-in-law Camille Fornesi, brother-in-law Michael LoBisco, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was also recently predeceased by her husband Anthony whom she enjoyed almost 58 loving years with and niece Jacqueline Fornesi-Nownes.
