Leonard J. Charles, 89 of Auburn passed away unexpectedly October 6, 2024 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Auburn, the son of the late Vincent and Beatrice (Bardreau) Charles 'Lenny' as he was affectionately known to everyone, worked at the former Columbian Rope Company ,was a greeter at Wal Mart and retired from Welch Allyn after several years of service. Lenny also loved people and had the 'gift of gab'. It was often difficult to get out of a conversation with Lenny in under ten minutes. He will be sadly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dawn (Ayers) Charles, two brothers-in-law Richard and Ken Ayers, very close friends Gordy and Pat Church and his beloved canine friend, Coopper.
In addition to his parents, Lenny was an avid animal lover and was also predeceased by Sparky and Casey.
