Lynette M. Cornell

Lynette M. Cornell, 65 of Auburn passed away unexpectedly April 9, 2026 at her home , surrounded by her loving family.
 She was born in Johnson City, NY the daughter of the late Elwood and Barbara ( Spear) Hoover and had resided most of her life both in North Carolina and the Auburn area’s. Lynette worked for many years as a  Mental Health counselor for Cayuga County.  She loved spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed being around the ocean and beach .  She loved taking in all the beautiful sights and sounds attributed to the ‘ beach’ life.  Lynette also enjoyed taking an occasional trip to one of our local casinos. Lynette cherished all the special times spent with her family and will be greatly missed by all of them .
 She is survived by three loving children, daughter, Sarah (Jerrod) Blake, Jessica Terwillger, Bruce (Erica) Cornell, grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Margaret, Abigail, Hannah, Jerrod Jr., Brandon, Preston, Nathan, Carter, Chase, Maddox, Bella, siblings, Donna (Bruce) Besner, Hope Seville, Jennifer (Brian) Evans-Leyburn, Elwood (Terri) Hoover, several nieces, nephews, cousins  and best friend Melanie Foster.
 In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by  a brother Mark Hoover.
 Calling hours are this Friday, April 17th from 4-6 pm in  the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St.
