Maria Ann (Frumento) Pilipczak, 68 of Auburn passed away peacefully Friday morning, October 25, 2024 at Auburn Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
She was a life resident of Auburn, the daughter of the late, William and Mary (Siviglia) Frumento. Maria graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1974 and received her bachelor's degree from R.I.T. in Medical Technology. She became a microbiologist working for more than 40 years at the Cayuga County Lab, now the Lab at Auburn Community Hospital, retiring as supervisor in the microbiology department. She was a very devout Catholic and parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. Maria was also a member of the Woman's Auxillary for the Knights of Columbus. She loved and cherished attending each and every one of her children's and grandchildren's events. Maria enjoyed baking and cooking with and for her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all of them.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 46 years, Mark Pilipczak of Auburn, two children, son Kevin (Lyndsay) Pilipczak, daughter Erin Pilipczak (Christian), two grandchildren Amaris and Tatum Pilipczak, a sister Roxanne (Russ) Harvard their children , nephew Brandon(wife Jackie) Harvard their daughter Kiarra , niece Alanna Harvard of Auburn, three brothers-in-law, Stephen (Cindy) Pilipczak, Joseph Pilipczak (children Emily and Natalie) and David Pilipczak (children Danielle(child McKenzie) and Allison), several cousins and her beloved canine friend, Bailee.
In addition to her parents, Maria was also predeceased by a brother-in-law Michael Pilipczak.
Calling hours are this Wednesday, October 30th from 10:30 am until 12:15 pm in Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St.,Auburn. Maria's Mass of Christian burial will follow on Wednesday, Oct . 30th, at 1pm in Sacred Heart Church, Melrose Rd.,Auburn. Burial is in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
