Marjorie (Gregory) Walters, 91, formerly of Stryker Homes, Auburn peacefully passed away with her family gathered around her on September 4, 2023, at The Commons on Saint Anthony, after a brief illness.
She was born in Auburn, on December 6, 1931, the daughter of the late Guy and Grace (Smith) Sandy. Marge, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, enjoyed the simpler things in life, like reading, crossword puzzles, coloring and playing BINGO. Above everything, she cherished the many special times spent with her family. She will be greatly missed.
Marjorie is survived by her five loving children, son Thomas (Rosemary) Gregory of Auburn, four daughters, Mary Ellen (Michael) Tehan of Guilderland, NY, Michele (Larry) Hess of Fleming, Marjorie (Gregory) Comer of Auburn, Lisa (Donald) DeBois of Throop, nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Edward) Evans, Allyson Bottindari, Erin (John) LaFleur, Michael (Holly) Tehan, Jeffrey (Michelle) Tehan, Christopher (Jessica) Hess, Matthew (Maura) Hess, Joseph (Sarah) DeBois, Nicholas (Terri) DeBois, fifteen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Marge was also predeceased by her husband Raymond Walters, the father of her children, Michael Gregory, brother Robert Sandy and four sisters, Jean Wenner, Joan Churney, Susanne Cornel and Clara Condes.
A calling hour will be held this Friday, September 8, 2023, from 12:00 pm until 1:30 pm, with services to immediately follow at 1:30 pm, all inside of Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St.,Auburn. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff of the sixth floor at The Commons on Saint Anthony for their care shown to our mother during her stay there.
