Mary Wisniewski Obituary

Mary "Becky" Wisniewski

Mary "Becky" Wisniewski passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Becky was born in Auburn, New York, on February 11, 1944, to Donald E. Kelsh and Mary Jane Wills Kelsh. She graduated from East High School in 1962 before earning her associate degree from Cayuga Community College. Becky dedicated 39 years of service to P&C Foods, where she built lasting friendships and earned a reputation for her strong work ethic before retiring in 2000.

A lifelong lover of golf, Becky was a proud member of Highland Park Golf Club for many decades. During her prime, she was an accomplished golfer, winning the Ladies Club Championship numerous times. The friendships she formed on the course and the joy she found in the game remained among her favorite memories.

Becky was a loyal and devoted friend whose kindness knew no bounds. She cared deeply for those she loved and was always there when someone needed a helping hand, a listening ear, or words of encouragement. Her friendships were lifelong, and she treasured the special bonds she shared with so many. Becky also had a tremendous love for animals and found great joy in their companionship throughout her life.

Perhaps Becky's greatest legacy was the extraordinary courage with which she faced life's greatest challenges. Over the years, she battled multiple cancers and endured years of dialysis, yet she never complained or asked, "Why me?" Instead, she met every diagnosis and every obstacle with unwavering determination, remarkable grace, and quiet strength. Those who knew Becky were continually inspired by her resilience and were in awe of the courage and bravery she displayed throughout her journey.

Becky is survived by her loving son, Scot Wisniewski, and son-in-law, David Schecter, of Skaneateles, New York; her sister, Marni Eckroth of Yuma, Arizona; her sister-in-law, Diane Kelsh of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Raymond Wisniewski, who passed away in January 2026; her parents, Donald E. Kelsh and Mary Jane Wills Kelsh; and her brother, Donald E. Kelsh Jr.

In accordance with Becky's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held later this year at St. Alphonsus Church in Auburn. The date and time will be announced at a later date.
