Pamela Harris Obituary

Pamela Dattler Harris 72 of Kirkville, New York passed away peacefully on Saturday Janurary 22, 2022.

Born in Syracuse New York to the late Robert Dattler Sr & Florence Schlie on April 17,1949.

Pamela touched so many lives throughout her lifetime with her carefree, energetic positive soul. Her first job was at Mohawk Airlines as a flight attendant before having a family. On December 28,1968 she married the love of her life George R Harris IV. In 1971 their family started growing as did their love.

As well as being a homemaker Pam loved quilting, gardening, bowling, raising her family, and of course, socializing.

Tragically on January 5,1985 her love of her life lost his battle to cancer leaving her widowed. She worked very hard to support her family by working at AAA Travel of Syracuse. Later she went on to the dental field where she worked with General Dentistry and Endodontics. Pamela found her true passion and started working for Enable in group homes caring for the mentally disabled.

Pamela is survived by her siblings Sharon Sessler of Memphis NY, Robert Dattler Jr of Cazenovia Ny, Dale Dattler ( Diane)of Jordan NY, and Kevin Dattler of Cato Ny.

She is survived by her loving children Kim Grinnell of Marietta NY , Jennifer Harris of SanFransisco CA , Jacqueline Harris of North Syracuse, Phillip Harris of Syracuse, George R Harris V ( Elizabeth) of Virginia. Six grandchildren Sierra Schneider, Kelsey (Ryan) Deleel, Brian (Megan)Prue, Jonathan Prue, Hannah Nicholas, Kaitlynn Harris. One great grandson Ayden Schneider.

Pam’s wishes were that in lieu of flowers all donations be made to: Hope Lodge of Rochester, Wilmont Cancer Center, or the Lymphoma Cancer Society.

Pam fought a courageous 17-year battle against lymphoma. The family would like to express how grateful we are for her wonderful care given by Wilmont Cancer Center – Dr Reagan & Dr Barr’s team. Hope Lodge of Rochester was an amazing place we called home while going through CAR-T Therapy.

A celebration of life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
