Patricia Ambrose Obituary

Patricia M. (Angelo) Ambrose,  78 of Sennett, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, September 17, 2024 at Auburn Community Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

  She was born in Montour Falls, the daughter of the late Rocco and Dorothy (Carr) Angelo and had resided most of her life in the area. Patty graduated from Port Byron High School, Class of 1963. She retired from the Gavras Center after several years of service.  Patricia loved to travel and take cruises. She especially enjoyed her recent trip to Yellowstone National Park and to Arizona. She also liked to garden, cook and keep the house looking immaculate. Above everything, Patty lived for her grandchildren and was most happy every second she got to share with each of them. 

  She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas Ambrose, four children, Debra Sleight, Kristie Schmitt (David Young), Michael Ambrose, Mark Ambrose (Emilie Hauger), 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three sisters, Jeanne (Ronald) Semple, Judy (Lynn) Lepak, Sue Zamniak (Jim Foley), as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

  In  addition to her parents, Patty was also predeceased by a son Richard Kaufman and two brothers, Anthony Schimizzi and Tony Angelo.

  A calling hour will be held this Saturday, September 21st from 11:00 am until 12:00 pmwith a service to immediately follow at the Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.

  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patricia's memory to either St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Roswell Park Cancer Research.
