Peter J. ‘Pet’ Petrosino

Peter J. ‘Pet’ Petrosino, passed away peacefully on his 74th birthday, September 2,2024 at Auburn Community Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
 He was a life resident of Auburn, the son of the late Anthony and Caroline ( Lambert) Petrosino. ‘Pet’ as he was affectionately known by his family and friends was a Central High School graduate, Class of 1968.  Peter was a highly skilled and trained mechanic, owning and operating Pet’s Auto Repair for more than 50 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church and lifetime member of the Cayuga County Sportsman’s Club.  The sportsman’s club was like a second family to Pet. He throughly enjoyed all of his times spent there and will be sadly missed by his fellow members. Pet was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and golfing . He also liked to follow the Miami Dolphins and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. He cherished the many special times spent with his family .
 He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jean (Dennis) Petrosino, two daughters, Ann Marie Petrosino (Kyle Platt), Lori (Kenny) Albert, four grandchildren, Madison Dahl (Brett), Alexandra Dahl, Tyler Albert (Kara), Marissa Albert, very special brother-in-law and hunting companion, Gary Dennis, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
 In addition to his parents, Peter was also predeceased by a granddaughter Michaela Dahl and several siblings.
 Calling hours are this Thursday September 5th from 4 to 7 pm at Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St., Auburn.
 Peter’s Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 am , Friday with the Pastor, Rev. Frank Lioi as celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
 A special thank you to the exceptional care that was shown to Peter by the staff on the CCU Unit at Auburn Community Hospital.
