It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Richard Frank Bok, of Cayuga, NY, who left us and joined his loving wife (Barbara) on October 11, 2025 at the age of 91. Characterized by his perpetual strength and resiliency, his animated personality and endless ability to unravel any constraint, revive any splintered treasure, and create any imagined idea, his presence will be profoundly missed.
‘Papa’, to some, will be remembered with laughter by his children; David Bok (Ann), Lisa Rotello, Jennifer Scicchitano (Joseph), and Robert Foltz, his 11 grandchildren and by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors both in Hibiscus Harbor, NY as well as Venice, Fl.
Richard ‘Dick” Bok grew up in Watertown, NY, was a veteran of the US Navy and performed as a radio operator during the Korean War.
He is survived by his sister Carol Jennings (Rick), also of Watertown, and will be reunited with his son Marty and his four other siblings Joyce, Elaine, Betty and Andy Bok, in eternal rest. He was an engineer by trade, a ‘sea captain’ by desire, a collector of ducks, a builder of giraffes, a lover of all things slapstick and the true MacGyver in his approach to life. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure”, directed his searches and “You don’t get something for nothing”, drove his arduous nature. His last year of life was filled with heartache for the loss of his greatest love and times for greater connection with all of his children. He will forever stand as the strongest man we all have ever known. Rest well, smarty pants.A private service will be held in the days to come, and much laughter will ensue.
