Richard Alan Kulis Jr.

Richard Alan Kulis Jr., 42 of Auburn passed away peacefully, Monday afternoon, January 29,2024 at the Matthew House, after more than a thirteen-year battle with cancer.
 He was a lifelong resident of Auburn, the son of Patrice (Murphy) and Richard A.Kulis. Rick or Ricky as he was known by his family and friends, attended Auburn High School and received his associate degree from Finger Lakes Community College. Ricky, previously worked for many years at CHAD as an alcohol and drug counselor. He currently was working, up until his recent illness at Cayuga Correctional Facility in Moravia. Rick was an avid San Francisco 49’ers football fan and thoroughly enjoyed every Halloween season. He was most happy the times spent with his family and especially his children. Ricky would seldom miss an event or sports game in which his children or nieces and nephews were playing in. 
 He is survived by his loving children, son Carter and daughter Grace Kulis, his parents, Richard and Patrice Kulis , two sisters, Leigh (Jason) Alberici and their children,  Jack and Ella Alberici, Melanie (Christian) Maher and their children Mac, Ryan and Cal Maher, aunt Elizabeth (Bob) Hudick,  five uncles, Jerry Kulis, John (Judy) Kulis, Michael (Lauri) Kulis, Matthew (Jeff) Kulis, David Kulis ,aunt Irene Kulis as well as numerous cousins and friends.
 Calling hours are this Monday, February 5th from 4 to 7 pm in Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St.,Auburn. Richard’s Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, February 6th at 10:30 am in St. Mary’s Church.
