Robert E. Coleman, 92 of Auburn passed away peacefully Monday morning, December 9,2024 at The Commons on Saint Anthony after a brief illness.
Bob was born in Olean, NY the son of the late Louis and Mabel (Bradt) Coleman and had resided most of his life in the Auburn area. After many years of dedicated service Bob retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. as a district manager. Bob was an active member of United Methodist Church and a 60-year member of the Auburn Free and Accepted Masons. He held several positions including Past Master and Cayuga Thompkins District Deputy Grand Master. Bob was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Central City Bodies Scottish Rite and a proud member of the Damascus Shrine. Bob's love of the outdoors and watching things grow was evident in his owning and operating his Christmas Tree Farm (Coleman's Trees) for many years. He was an avid hunter and consummate handyman. Bob was a very special man who will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving children, Cheryl (David) Wawrzaszek, Claudia (Stephen) Persaile, Craig (Michelle) Coleman, five grandchildren, Sara (John) Mack, Ashley (Nate) Odden, Justin Persaile (Kim Look), Chandler (Chelsie) Coleman, Connor Coleman, four greatgrandchildren, Emerson and Carly Mack, Mila and Chloe Persaile , and a very special companion Anne Jones , and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife Marilyn (Appleby), a grandson Todd Wawrzaszek, a brother and two sisters.
A calling hour will be held Saturday, January 25th from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, with services to immediately follow at 11:00 am, the calling hour and service will be held at the United Methodist Church, 99 South Street, Auburn, NY
