Restey
Robert ‘ Bob’ P. Restey, 63 of Auburn passed away peacefully April 11,2025 at Van Duyn Rehabilitation Center in Syracuse, with his son and daughter at his side ,after battling stage 4 cancer.
He was born in Auburn the son of the late Peter and Bernadette ( Giannettino) Restey. Bob graduated from Auburn High School, Class of 1980 and attended Cayuga Community College for criminal justice. Bob served 16 years as a NYS corrections officer and was currently employed for more than 20 years by Vitale Robinson Concrete. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, having bonfires, attending concerts and his most favorite of all was grilling,barbecuing and smoking, especially his almost famous ribs. Bob was an avid New York sports fan,with his favorites being the Giants, Yankees and Rangers. Bob enjoyed playing many different sports, including playing fast pitch softball, golfing, riding dirt bikes , attending motocross races and was an exceptional bowler, having recorded 3 perfect 300 games and a 800 series. He also had a great love for dogs and his favorite were his Beagles, Molly, Charlie, Max and Marbles.
He is survived by his two loving children, son Robert Restey ( Melissa), daughter Lauren Valle (Carlos) , sister Karen Zamniak, three grandchildren, Noelle and Brian Restey, Nathan Valle, aunt Dolly Trinca, two nieces Lindsey ( Matthew), Jaimie (Christopher).
Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian burial Tuesday, April 22nd at 11:00 am in Sacred Heart Church, Melrose Rd., Auburn
