Ronald Noga Obituary

Ronald J. Noga

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald J. Noga, who died peacefully on December 11, 2025, in Auburn, New York, surrounded by loved ones. Born on March 7, 1948, in Auburn, Ron was the son of Matthew and Mary (Ryan) Noga. Auburn was the place he called home his entire life.

Ron proudly served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam War veteran, a chapter of his life he carried with lifelong pride. He spent the majority of his career working for Carrier, from which he later retired. His years at Carrier were an important part of his life and led to many lasting friendships that he deeply valued.

Ron will be remembered for his sense of humor, his larger than life personality, and his uncanny talent for breaking out an impressive polka at just the right moment. He never missed a good meal and had a remarkable gift for befriending people almost instantly, often treating his children’s friends like his own within seconds of meeting them. Ron was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and the Syracuse Orange. He was often seen in the bleachers showing his unwavering support of any family member playing any sport- especially baseball. His banter over his sports bets and parlays will be deeply missed.

Ron was the loyal and devoted husband of Mary (Yuhas) Noga for 51 years, and a loving, doting father to Lori Noga (Colby Cockrell) and Matthew Noga. Ron’s world revolved around his grandchildren, Cameron and Carter Cockrell, who were the light of his life. Time spent with them brought him his greatest joy.

Ron is met in eternity by his parents, Matthew and Mary (Ryan) Noga; his siblings David Day, Patricia Glancy, and Barbara Polcovich; sister-in-law Susan Day; brother-in-law Anthony Nunnari; many beloved aunts and uncles; and, perhaps most importantly, his cherished grandpuppies, Pixie and McNabb, whom he adored beyond measure.

Family was always at the center of Ron’s life. He is survived by his sister, Judy Nunnari, with whom he shared a lifelong and deeply cherished bond. He is also survived by Susan Polcovich, who held a very special place in his heart and was loved like a daughter. He is further survived by his numerous brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, as well as an abundance of cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom were an important part of his extended family.

A Celebration of Life honoring Ron will be held in early summer 2026, with details to follow.
