Rosalie “Sally” Gallo, 89 of Auburn passed away peacefully on March 19, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family at her son Anthony’s home. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was born in Auburn , the daughter of the late Theresa (Septembre) and Andrew Marinelli . Sally had a heart full of love and an infectious zest for life. Sally was the epitome of generosity and resilience. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, always putting their happiness and well-being above all else. She is survived by her beloved children, Anthony, Andrea, and Richard, who were the lights of her life. She was a proud grandmother to Storm, Nicholas, Vincent, Noah, and Joshua, a cherished great-grandmother to Erickson and Archer and beloved sister Lucy Pagano.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband Richard Gallo and two siblings Antoinette Daddabbo and Angelo ‘Sonny’ Marinelli.
Her family was her greatest joy, and she found immense fulfillment in their laughter, achievements, and simply being present for every milestone and special moment.
Sally was known not only for her boundless love but also for her unwavering strength and grace. She had a remarkable ability to uplift others, always offering a kind word, a listening ear, and an open heart. Those who knew her often described her as a “superwoman” who faced life’s challenges with dignity and perseverance. She had an effortless elegance, always carrying herself with style and poise, yet it was her heart of gold that truly defined her. She was the kind of person who greeted everyone with a smile and left them feeling better than before. Sally cherished and embraced all her lifetime friendships.
Beyond her family, Sally worked and retired as a nurse from Auburn Memorial Hospital and the Finger Lakes Center for Living. Sally was deeply committed to giving back to her community. She dedicated countless hours volunteering at nursing homes, food pantries, and various charitable organizations, always seeking to bring comfort and joy to those in need. She believed in the power of kindness and demonstrated it daily through her selfless acts.
Sally had a passion for cooking and baking, particularly when it came to preparing Italian dishes and desserts. Her kitchen was a place of love, filled with the aromas of homemade pasta sauces, freshly baked cookies, and the warmth of shared family meals. For those lucky enough to taste her creations, they were more than just food—they were expressions of her love.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Calling hours will be held Sunday 3/23 from 2-4, in Pettigrass Funeral Home, 196 Genesee St.,Auburn where family and friends can come together to honor her memory.A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday 3/24 at 10:30 am in Saint Francis of Assisi Church. Donations may be made in Sally’s name at St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, continuing the spirit of giving that defined her remarkable life.
