Rowena Angelino, 90, of Auburn passed away at The Commons on St Anthony on February 25, 2025, with her family by her side.
Born in Gadsden, Alabama as Johnnie Rowena Stryffler on July 7, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Henry & Pauline Stryffler.
After graduating High School, Rowena became an airline stewardess. When she settled in Auburn, she worked at Muggleton Gallery, the National Bank of Auburn, and Picciano Real Estate. Her greatest joy was helping raise and spending time with her grandchildren. They brought so much happiness into her life.
Rowena always enjoyed a good game of bridge with the “ladies” and playing cards with her family.
She married the love of her life Martin on July 17th, 1973. They resided in Auburn NY and enjoyed numerous outdoor activities together; Skiing at Song Mountain every weekend in the Winter, with a month-long trip to Sanibel Island in Florida along with summers spent on 4th lake in the Adirondack’s hiking & kayaking.
The family would like to thank the 3rd Floor Manager, Tammy Sikora, and the entire staff for taking such good care of our mom for many years.
Rowena is survived by her two daughters Amy (Richard) Signorelli, Becky Nicandri and son, Peter (Joanne) Kudla all from Auburn, NY along with two stepdaughters, Cassi (Peter) Reynolds, and Melanie Angelino & Terry Hogrefe both from Fort Myers, FL., sisters Joyce Galetti & Ellie Campeau, 11 grandchildren, Allie Davenport, Madeline Signorelli, Peter & Ryan Kudla, Josh Wedge, Katie Cazzolli, Christy Pyanchov, Matthew Reynolds, Eric & Andrew Ambert and Maria Angelino and 4 great grandchildren, Aurora, Ben, Liam & Lucas.
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Martin Angelino Jr., stepdaughter Maria Caroline Angelino, her two brothers Glen & Leon Stryffeler and best friends Bob & Ginny Muggleton
A funeral service for Rowena will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Monday, March 3rd with calling hours from 10:00 – 11:00 am followed directly by the funeral mass. Burial will follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery.
