Sandra ‘Sandi’ E. (Helas) Weiman, 82 of Auburn passed peacefully Easter Sunday evening, April 5, 2026 at The Commons on Saint Anthony.
She was a life resident of Auburn, the daughter of the late Bohdan and Mary (Shrodi). ‘Sandi’ as she was affectionately known was a graduate of Central High School, class of 1961. She was a very devout Catholic and longtime active parishioner of St. Mary’s Church and a member of their Holy Rosary and Scapular Society. She retired from Cayuga Savings Bank after many years of service. Upon retirement, Sandi or as the children pleasantly referred to her as ‘Mrs. W’ worked for several years in the cafeteria for the Auburn Enlarged City School District. She was a former K of C Auxiliary member Council #207. Sandi was an avid Buffalo Bills and Syracuse University sports fan. She also enjoyed traveling, and especially loved spending many days at the family camp in Forestport. Sandi was an excellent cook, baker and seamstress. Sandi loved all living animals but had a special fondness for her little feline friends and would often adopt many stray cats that came into her life. She cherished and adored her family and will be greatly missed by all of them.
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 62 years, William Weiman Sr., beloved son, Robert Weiman, grandchildren William Weiman III, Heather (Chris) Lindsley, Katelyn (Velma) Tompkins, Jacob Weiman, Benjamin Weiman, great grandchildren Lakeland, Sky, daughter-in-law Tina Weiman as well as several nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by a son, William Jr., and a sister Sonja Jones.
A calling hour will be held this Friday, April 10th from 10:30 am until 11:30 am with her mass of Christian burial to immediately follow, all inside of St. Mary’s Church, Clark St., Auburn. Entombment is in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, please kindly consider a donation in her memory to the SPCA, 41 York St., Auburn for her love and devotion of animals.
