Santa (Siracusa) Catalano

Santa ( Siracusa) Catalano, 85 of Auburn passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on March 17, 2025.
   Daughter of the late Filipo and Frances (Fiorille) Siracusa, Santa, graduated from Central High School, Class of 1957. True to her name, Santa was a devout Catholic and longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church.  Equally devoted to her family, she spent her life creating wonderful memories, laughter, and fun. Santa lived to laugh, playing games, especially Bocce, Corn Hole and Bowling. But most of all she enjoyed the company of her beloved grandchildren. She thoroughly enjoyed and seldom missed any of their events. Santa will be forever remembered for her infectious smile and zest for life. 

  She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Rosario “Ross” Catalano, three loving children, Frank (Mindi) Catalano, Caroline (Daniel) Bennett, Christine (Anthony) Bartolotta, eight grandchildren, Carissa ( Joseph) Dalhoff, Coral Catalano, Ross Catalano, Alyssa (Nicholas Andrew’s) Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Ava Bartolotta, Lia Rose Bartolotta, and Matteo Bartolotta, a great grandchild Amara Dalhoff , two adored sisters , Mary (Sam) Foster, Susanne Prave as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins .
  In addition to her parents, Santa was predeceased by four siblings, Molly (Tony) Marcon, Anthony (Grace) Siracusa, Alfonso (Tecla) Siracusa, Josephine (Jack) Exner, and brother-in-law Anthony Prave.
A calling hour will be held this Wednesday, March 19th, from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm, with her Mass of Christian burial to immediately follow all inside of Sacred Heart Church, 90 Melrose Rd., Owasco. Burial is in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
